WHISKEY SOUR COCKTAIL

This year has been the year of the Whiskey Sour for me.  A little tart, a little sweet and garnished with some bing cherries. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it!

Whiskey Sour Cocktail

Whiskey sours are very popular and one of the best classic cocktails to make or order when you are out!!  This cocktail is sour obviously, but with a great whiskey and the simple syrup, a wonderful balance of flavors is formed!  This is a very easy cocktail to adjust.  If you want it a little more tart just squeeze some more lemon into it.  Need it slightly sweeter, add a smidge more of simple syrup or cherry juice!

Traditionally, an egg white is used to make it frothy.  This is something that can be totally omitted, but I love the addition of it!  It just makes me feel that much more classy lol!!  My absolute favorite cherries to use are Bada Bing cherries.  You can find them at any grocery store, or HERE on Amazon.  This is what MAKES the cocktail in my opinion. haha, well other than the whiskey! A really fantastic whiskey is what makes this drink amazing.  Anyway,  Make sure you get these cherries! THE BEST!

This calls for a simple syrup which is very easy to make.  I make a bunch and then store it in an air tight container until I want to use it.  The how-to for the simple syrup is in the instructions. Just make sure that you make this ahead of time because if you pour the hot syrup into the shaker with the egg white it will “scramble” the egg up. BARF.
