Are you ready for one of the most delicious cocktails you will EVER have?! I’m not joking here guys, this Gin Fizz Cocktail is my absolute favorite drink and I can’t believe it has taken me THIS long to write a post about it.
Here’s a little backstory about this Gin Fizz. Traditionally, my family would only make this for Easter. It is something we all would look forward too all year long. But then one day I decided to make them for an event and every one and their mom were asking for the recipe. It is so delicious, one of my friends who rarely drinks, was all up on these for a couple weeks! I feel like people only love me for my Gin Fizzes (haha, kidding, I hope)
My group of friends are obsessed. And I’m totally okay with that! Sometimes we even call them “Jenn Fizzes” even though it’s a family recipe that I really shouldn’t take credit for!!
There is nothing “healthy” about this recipe at all. And I would never try to change it up. Why fix a good thing?!!! No wait, a great thing. The ingredients might sound a little odd, but I pinky promise, and cross my heart, that it will be pretty frickin’ amazing! I’m practically drooling just thinking about them. Seriously, your fridge and freezer will become stocked with ALL THE GIN FIZZ THINGS!
Ingredients
- 1 frozen can of "Minute Maid Limeade"
- 3/4 can of gin (I like the brand Prairie)
- 3/4 can of half & half
- 2 cans of ice
- club soda for a floater
- sprinkle of ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Dump out the limeade into a blender.
- Using that can as your "measuring device", pour in the gin and then the half & half, followed by the ice.
- Blend everything EXCEPT for the club soda and nutmeg until smooth
- Pour into a large glass and top with a little club soda as a floater and a dash of nutmeg.
- Enjoy over and over and over again
If you do not drink alcohol or maybe you want to make this for kids, just omit the Gin. I do like to add a half can of water in place of the gin. This is going to be your summertime beverage. I’m certain of it!! Like I mentioned before I have not tried this with any other ingredients because it is absolute perfection just as is.
Whole30: no
Paleo: no
Jenn! These sounds great! May make them for Easter lunch! 3/4 cup of gin? 2 cups Ice? 3/4 cup half and half? Double checking! Thanks for always bringing the delicious with your recipes.
Use the can as the “measuring device” I fixed the instructions in the recipe to better understand it! I hope you enjoy them.
This sounds weirdly delicious, which is my favorite kind of thing! I have a few questions. When you say can in the measurements are you using the limeade can? Also does the half and half feel like you are drinking a glass of alcoholic milk? Thanks! I can’t wait to give it a try!
Yes the limeade can. I fixed the instructions to make more sense! It doesn’t taste like alcoholic milk at all. It tastes like a slushy limeade drink that you want to be having beachside! The half and half makes it frothy. Not even kidding, my mouth is drooling thinking about it!
Yum! Any suggestions for dairy free version? Thanks
You can try canned coconut milk. I haven’t tried it, but it could work for dairy free.
Just used “so delicious” coconuts creamer and it tastes like key lime pie ? I’m trying it tomorrow with half and half just for comparison, but needed a dairy free version for friends with milk allergies.
Yay. That sounds divine and a great option!
These are fabulous! I used half limeade and half OJ to mix it up a bit. Heavenly.
well shoot!!! I’m DEFINITELY gonna have to try that!
Is this a 6oz can or 12? All I have is a 12oz. Can of lime aid. Can I use the same measurements with a 12 oz can and just make a double batch?
Thanks!
this recipe is for a 12 oz can
