There was a summer, a few years back, that we probably made margaritas 3 times a week. Sometimes with the ol’ tequila, sometimes without. Either way, it was refreshing and delicious (obviously). Sometimes we would get extra crazy and toss a Corona upside down into the margarita. Go big or go home right!!?!! I’m calling it right now this Strawberry Pineapple Margarita is going to be the drink of choice come summer!
One of the *many* things I love about margaritas is that they are so versatile. I mean lets be real, any fruit added with tequila is pretty gosh darn good. And even if alcohol isn’t your thing, a “mockarita” is just as DELICIOUS! I love any margarita with strawberries and since CaStrawberries are still very much in season (and are actually available year round), I grabbed a bunch of fresh strawberries to make myself a little afternoon drinky drink. I never add simple syrups to my fruit drinks because the fruit is sweet enough as is and I feel like it takes away from the actual taste of the real fruit!
Ingredients
- 1 pint of strawberries, diced
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, diced
- 1/2 cup 100% orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1-2 cups ice
- 1/2 cup tequila silver
Instructions
- Throw everything into a blender and blend!
- Garnish with a strawberry and piece of pineapple.
Notes
Omit tequila for a mockarita!
After reading the recipe you can see why I made them a billion times a few summers ago!! Easy peasy. And for those of you wondering, I like tequila silver better than gold because they usually add caramel coloring to the gold kind and that’s just not my thang. I feel like silver doesn’t have as strong as a taste either. And obviously, for a whole30 version just omit the tequila, although as you may already know fruity drinks like this aren’t recommended (they are allowed, just not recommended #sugardragon)
Tell me whats your favorite summer drink to have? Are they margaritas like me??!!
Whole30: no
Paleo: no
