There was a summer, a few years back, that we probably made margaritas 3 times a week. Sometimes with the ol’ tequila, sometimes without. Either way, it was refreshing and delicious (obviously) Sometimes we would get extra crazy and toss a Corona upside down into the margarita. Go big or go home right!!?!!
Eating healthy is really important (for obvious reasons lol) , but so is taking care of yourself. It’s easy for me to remember to brush my teeth, wash my hair, etc etc…..but for this little team of mine, not so much. I hate to admit it, but sometimes when we are so busy out and about doing after school activities, when we get home the kids get on their pj’s and hop right into bed….without brushing their teeth. Hashtag: GAG. Hashtag: also my fault. I would never forget to brush my own teeth cause I’ve been doing it for 30 something years and it is just a natural thing to do, but for my kids, that’s another story. It’s such a chore for them especially when they have better things to do, like play!!
Holla if you love onion rings!! I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who doesn’t. Greasy and deep-fried, that shiz is so good, but my stomach always hates me after.
I was determined to make something that was not so greasified, that my kids loved, and that didn’t result with us ending in a fetal position crying because we think our stomachs may explode!
These baked rings rocked our world. It wasn’t too crazy spicy, so my kids could enjoy them, and of course not greasy or deep fried. #winning.
I love fall drinks, especially with booze in them! This drink is simple, delicious, and screams fall!!
I am finally hopping on the Thanksgiving bandwagon and posting one of my favorite side dishes for this holiday; le cranberry sauce.
Last year was my first year making homemade cranberry sauce and it was pretty good, but was missing a little somethin’ somethin.’ So this year I decided to step it up a couple notches.
My new version is a little more tart, which I love, but if its not your thing, tweak it to make it sweeter. This recipe is pretty versatile. My little taste testers approved of it too, and did I mention that it’s paleo, cause it is!!
Pomegranate Cranberry Sauce
-1 bag of cranberries
-1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
-zest of 1/2 orange
-juice of 1/2 orange
-2 1/2 tbl pure maple syrup
Place all ingredients in a pot except for maple syrup and pomegranate seeds. Cook on medium stirring frequently. The cranberries will begin to pop and get soft. Once you start hearing them pop pour in maple syrup. Continue stirring for about 10 min.
When you have a couple minutes left add in pomegranate seeds and stir to mix thoroughly. Take off heat, place in a dish and let cool in fridge for at least 2 hours.
Serve alongside your turkey or eat by itself!
